Botanical Description

Bulbs ovoid, forming small clumps. Leaves linear, 10-20cm long. Flowering stems 15-3 0cm tall. Flowers bell-shaped, the tapered tepal tips spreading to recurved, 7-10mm long, rosy-lilac to bright pink, sometimes bicoloured, in loose umbels, early summer. Western North America, in pine forest and scrub up to 1800m, mainly in loose, rather stony soil.
