Botanical Description

across or more, evergreen. Stems prostrate, slender, often reddish, rooting. Leaves densely arranged, more or less kidney-shaped 1.5-2.5cm across, cleft at least halfway into five obovate bilobed lobes, somewhat wavy, more or less ciliate, with reddish-hairy petioles. Flowers usually in small clusters hidden by the leaves. East African mountains on moors, in bamboo thickets, grassland, bogs and by streams. A variable species in leaf size, lobe shape, hairiness and colour.
