Botanical Description

shortly branching and more or less prostrate perennial with stems 5-12cm long, densely coated in silky villose hairs including the reverse of the floral standards. Leaves having large basal stipules clasping the stem and generally twelve to thirteen lanceolate to obovate leaflets 5-10mm long. Flowers yellow, solitary, proportionately large at 1.2-2cm long on stalks of 2-3cm in length from the leaf axils. Lomenta small, few-segmented and downy, contained within the calyx. Chile and Argentina, occurring throughout Patagonia at 10-800m. First collected by Charles Darwin.
